Curtis Waltz, owner of Aerialscapes, Inc., was awarded Best Commercial Entry and Best of Show for ‘Above the Fathoms’ at the 2008 international conference of the Professional Aerial Photographer’s Association in Los Angeles. 

Above the Fathoms dramatically captures reef building activity in Lake Michigan a mile off the shore of Oak Creek, WI by the Pere Marquette under the direction of the Edward E. Gillen Company. 

“This award is extremely gratifying,” said Mr. Waltz.  “To win with a commercial entry when competing against the best aerial photographers very, very difficult.  Gillen and I struggled for months to coordinate this project, to find a time when one of the boats was unloading during daylight and during good weather.  I’m very pleased with what I was able to deliver to Gillen and certainly to be recognized with a high honor like Best of Show.”
